Constrained Choices

I’ve been thinking a lot about this. I don’t believe that suicide is a ‘choice’ that falls squarely and totally on the person who commits the act. I think that it’s a choice that gets made from a very narrow set of ‘constrained choices’ (one of Diana’s go-to concepts around sex work).

We need to look really long and hard at what is pushing trans people to this ‘choice’ over and over again in our community. Another thing Diana always said is that ‘everything that has happened before will happen again.’

We have to do something different, collectively, if we want different results.
